at our FAQs below.
How often should I change the oil in my engine?
Engines vary, but you usually change the oil after 25 to 50 hours of use. We ask that at the bare minimum, change it yearly, but more often is better.
Why does my mower leave uncut strips in the grass?
This is caused by the blades being worn out. Each time a blade is sharpened, it gets a little shorter. Eventually, you'll see these strips. The only way to fix it is to replace the blades.
My lawn mower won't start. Why?
There are too many things that it could be to answer this one here. The best thing is to make sure it has fuel, and then call us at 270-547-7177. Be sure to tell us as many details (will it crank, do you hear anything click) as you can and we will have a better idea of where to look.
Why should I maintain my mower?
In the short run, it costs less to just keep mowing and not do anything to your mower until it breaks. However, if you service you mower regularly, you can stop many of the breakdowns that occur. Also, you can save downtime during mowing by catching potential problems before they cause trouble.
What does servicing my mower include?
At the very least, changing the oil and filter and spark plugs. You should also check the air filter, fuel filter, and belts. Then you should sharpen or replace the blades. All of the above is included in our maintenance packages. That way, you don't have to spend your time checking your mower over.
Why should I run my mower at full throttle?
To answer it quickly, because it was designed that way. Engines now have to meet emmissions standards, and are designed to run at full throttle. This also makes it run more efficiently, which cuts down on problems popping up.
My lawn mower doesn't mow in reverse. Can that be changed?
Well, in theory it can, but we don't know. That is a safety feature built in to protect you and your family. It doesn't really take that much time to reset the deck when that feature is used. Most new mowers now have a bypass on that, but we still recommend not turning that safety off.
